OK, I measured current / amps between the negative cable and the negative battery terminal, nothing registered. Next I measured resistance (OHM) between the negative cable and the positive battery terminal. The meter started climbing up to a reading of 46 then desended to 1.3.
I'm totally confused. How can I have resistance burt show no amperage?
Does your meter have a milliamp selection ? My meter will read nothing in amps, when there is less than one.
Also pull the fuse for your inside lights, I was told by a member to do this an it made a big difference in draw. If you get a reading over 50 milliamps you have a problem. Mine read somewhere around 20 ma. WW

Ohmeters are tricky. Many times you are reading contact resistance from the probe to whatever you are trying to measure. A better way is to use alligator clips. Also to answer your question the resistance you measured is not across the battery ... if it were it would be shorted ... good luck.
