My interior lights are staying on, i know this usually means the door switch is bad, how do i check the door switch to know if i that is the true cause of the problem? The lights where working correctly before the winter where the door panels where taken out, could something have grounded the wires while reinstalling the door panels to cause this?
When I had a door switch that wasn't being depressed enough I opened the door and pressed in the switch for 30sec of so to see if the lights would go off.
Is your security alarm falsely going off after the doors are closed and the arming circuit closes?
That's how I determined my passenger side door ajar switch was bad. I replaced both sides, though, since I figured if one switch had gone bad, the other side couldn't be too far behind....
I wont be able to look at the car until this weekend, could you give me some ideas as to what it might be with different lights on or off so i know what to look for when i go out there. ie: door ajar light on/off, security light on/off
If you hear a characteristic click, click, click, click from the passenger or driver side door panel followed by your interior lights flashing on and off when climbing an incline, reversing off an incline, cornering, or other maneuvers that flex the chassis, you know for SURE you've got a bad door ajar switch.
You had the door panels removed.
Did you perhaps replace weatherstrips on the doors, you might wanna take a look at the switches, and particularly the small pins in them.
If you take a small putty knife and lurk them out a little bit, they are some kind of adjuster for the actual switch.
They push in again when you close the door, if they have been pushed in all the way before, and you have replaced something, then the actual switch might not go in all the way now.
Ah, you´ll see it when you open the door and take a look at it.
Just pull out the small pin about 4 millimeters.

Just wanted everyone to know; pulling the fuse will not solve the problem. I realized today that the radio, courtesy lights and climate control are on the same fuse. My radio worked because it is an aftermarket. When I tried the AC I found out the control module was not working.
I guess bypassing it is the best and cheapest way.
