1995 6-speed shift ****

How do you remove the **** in order to change the boot? The stem going into the **** itself is burred where the previous owner tried to remove the ****. Thanks in advance.

I hooked a Vicegrip on mine and tapped it out with a hammer.

Remove the cap then you should be able to remove the plug with vicegrips or a screwdriver.

I used a drum brake adjuster tool. It looks like a small crowbar. It was just the right size to dig under the wedge and get it out.

I used a combination of 4 metric tonnes of PB-Blaster, 3 pairs of Vice-Grips, a flat-blade screwdriver, and eventually a paint can top-opener to pry it out

The brake tool did the trick. I went from the side and it slid right out....easy! That was good information. Stealth LT4, that was funny stuff.
