Default Burnt fuse-able wires (links)

One of the wires behind the battery that look like they are fuse-able link(if that makes sense), or wires, looks like it is burnt in two... where can i buy replace ment wire?, or should i just splice in new regular wire that is not "fuseable"?

Most auto parts stores sell fusible link wiring. I got a 25 ft. roll of 16 gauge (most of the fusible links for the C4 are this size). Cut the old link out and solder in a new piece. The new wire may not look the same but make sure its a fusible link.

Get the fusible link wiring because without it.

Goodbye wiring harness, it'll all melt if it ever shorts to ground.

I'm sure you don't want to start replacing a whole wiring harness.

i found a very good variety of fusable links (both guage of wire and length at my local NAPA store. Make sure you change it with the proper guage link or you will have more problems. They do seem to burn out just from time. I have actually changed out all of mine on my 84 after 2 different ones blew out at different times. This was just to make sure she remained reliable.
Good Luck

Another option would be to do some research and see what the current capacity of that gauge of wire is at 12v and replace it with an actual fuse.

Fuseable links are a short piece of smaller gauge wire that fuses (melts in two) if the wire current exceeds a safe value. Fuseable links are essentially fuses. Since you have evidence that the fuseable link melted in two, that circuit may have a short to ground and if you replace the link, it may blow again. If it does, you will need to find out where the short to ground is and fix it and replace the fuseable link a second time.
