Deciding to replace the original cat in my 89 with an aftermarket,do they all serve the same purpose regardless of their size ,as even the aftemarket offerings seem to vary greatly in design....
In other words does size really matter
Some of the aftermarket cats say they flow 23% better, I would go with a name brand with the higher flow. These can be had for around $150.00 to $180.00 .WW

I put on a high flow Magnaflow (Carsound) main cat. The size that matters is inlet/outlet size. Got mine on eBay for $65.00. It is the universal model.
a real cat or a (test cat)?
meaning straight tube.
I think it matters very much it can be a restriction.
Real Cat,I was going to gut the existing Original cat and weld a tube in however im a bit concerned this may increase resonance?as my current system already has had me found guilty by the noise police
