Default FI numbers

OK, just did a ohm test of my injectors and found interesting results.

16.6
16.5
16.5
16.5
16.4
3.8
16.5
16.6

Anyone think something might be up

This is my stock 89 coupe with 77K miles. Just a cruiser around town now after a few years as autox car. It just doesn't run great, a little rough.

Do I need to test more? Just replace the one? pull all and have tested?

My first dive into the world of FI!

Thanks

If these are the original injectors than get rid off all of them and install new ones. Jon at FIC really knows his stuff!

I tend to agree with the ideas to swap them all but I also have to look at the reading that 7 of the 8 appear to be right in range based on this simple ohm check, my understanding is that 16 ohms range is right on the money? In many ways it might be the same amount of work to do 1 as 8 with the disassemble and assembly but I just wonder if I really need all 8?

I do realize that another one could go bad in the next 6m or something!

I would do all of them and be done with it. It would suck to do one and then in a couple of months have to go back in to replace another one that went bad.

He does seem to show up right away when there is a problem, which is a great thing! Jon is like the fuel injector EMS.

I tried to be cheap and get used injectors heres what I got out of it

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-not-pics.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...ze-matter.html

Now I have done it twice and payed more money in parts that if I had gone with Jons injectors first.

Jon has been very helpful and I did not buy my injectors from him. Imagine what his customer support would be like

I had the same problem on my 89, spoke with Jon and ordered a complete set of Bosch 3's.( better off getting the Bosch3 kit) They come tomorrow and I can't wait to have a sweet running car. Do it right or don't do it at all, there not that expensive. If you haven't spoken with Jon in person, do yourself a favor and call him, I'm sure he sent his number to you.

I would change all 8 and the regulator also. Maybe the thermostat too. Inspect and clean everything. A broken down Vette is a sad sight. And Jon is the guy to walk you though the injector swap.

seems like a long time ago.. over 1200 sets sold since we started here. By the way Fred (kool88vette) and us are fine. I haven't seen him around here much but, we have no problem. It's tough to break into a forum like this.. All I know is that you are as good as your word. And if anyone ever has a problem, even if they bought from us or not we will help them out. My belief is that one day they will be a customer if you treat them right. Thanks guys for all the support I really appreciate it.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. It is possible to replace 1 injector without removing the too much depending on where its at. When I swapped my engine a few weeks back I had a bad o-ring at the top of 1 injector.. it pissed all over my intake as soon as the pump tried to prime the system. All I did was pop the plenium out ( unhooked the TB and left it in place so i didn't have to dump any coolant) loosened the runner bolts a tad, removed the 4 hold down bolts as well as the 1 at the front of the fuel line and popped the fuel rail up, moved the tab, popped the offender out, put a new o-ring on it and stuck it back in and reversed the procedure. Took all of 15 mins. Would have been longer if it was more than 1.
