Default Looking for shocking advice

Recently, I had a short that I tracked down to somewhere in the stereo unit. So, needless to say, no more stereo (for now) but I now don't have to worry about the CD skipping over every BOTS dot on the road.

The base suspension has always been something that I've wanted to improve on while remaining on the "side work is what keeps us afloat" budget. So, looking around on eBay for new shocks I find that there are many choices and unfortunately, I don't know how they all stack up against each other, or more importantly, against the stock units.

So, I'm looking for real world feedback on different brands/models. I want definite performance oriented but stay just this side of rattling everything loose. I don't drive it on a daily basis, so when I do, I want to enjoy it for the sports car it really is.

When I can finally get the tunes replaced, I'll likely feed it via iPod so CD skipping or changer is no longer an issue.

Thanks for all your input in advance!

tried delco's, bilstein hds, and finally was very pleased with bilstein sports on the front and the std replacement bilstein hd's on the rear
