Just thought id share the first product of my first welder with everyone
It all started with some hooker 2151-hkr longtubes, a tiny bit of straight pipe to line up the magnaflow cats, then into a jegs universal xpipe kit, and then finished off with some flanged turndowns.
I saved a bunch of cash doing it all myself (minus the cost of the millermatic 140) and its exactly how i want it.
I made flanges for the turndowns just incase i decide to add mufflers in the future but i love the sound for now.
It all tucks in quite nice, i took it for a drive and it only made 2 minor scrapes when entering driveways. under normal circumstances it wouldnt have scraped at all and thats with my car being lowered.
I will try to add some undercar shots if anyones interested.
From: I tend to be leery of any guy who doesn't own a chainsaw or a handgun.
Congratulations on your setup. I respect someone who's not afraid to "roll their own". Having a welder opens up the door to a lot of neat future projects.
Very cool! That looks just like the exhaust I just made, only mine goes out the back. I do like the sound without mufflers too!! Its got a real muscle car sound!
It is a street car but i do plan to run it at the local drag track and possible take it to track school. Up in nova scotia the law only requires us to have a cat, mufflers not required.
I actually didnt measure a thing when building this. all i used was my calibrated eye along with a sharpie. I was prepared to waste a few lenghts of tube but i got lucky and got it all without needing to create a garbage pile.
If you are serious about knowing the dimensions i dont mind doing that for you. Let me know.
And thanks for all the positive feedback guys
If you have it off and it is easy, I'd appreciate it, but if it is on the car and a pain to get to I can lay on my back and work it out just as well as you and you don't need to worry about it.
