Default Magnaflow cat back system

Is anyone running the magna flow cat back system
on a 1995 auto? How does it sound, what kind of performance
upgrade should i expect. Just purchased this system on ebay.

If you are speaking about the magnaflow catback #16837 then thats what I have. I also have a 95 with a 6 speed LT1. The system sounds really good. Its not overly loud at idle but once you start giving it throttle it begins to sound gnarly. Also there is hardly any interior resonance I often forget that its even an aftermarket system until i WOT. People at work say it sounds much smoother than my old system which were these off brand mufflers welded onto stock system that came with the corvette when I purchased it. I highly recomend this system and for the price of a full stainless steel system you can't beat it. $540 at hottexhaust.com

I have no firsthand knowledge of the Magnaflow system, but it was the one I was most interested in (not what I ended up buying tho). But $540 is a heck of a price. Are you hooking them up to some LT headers?

I would definetly like to install a set of longtube headers but I feel like I would begin to have a list of problems occuring. Like replacing gaskets... at least thats what my dad and other gear heads tell me. As of now I enjoy a little noise and a car that runs. And ofcourse the looks from the ladies!

I have it on the GS. Sounds nice and deep and no resonance.

I run Magnaflows on my 96'. Good sound, not too tame. Best bang for the buck.

Does this system have an X or H-pipe in place of a resonator? Or does it have a resonator similar to the stock system? Was the fit pretty close, or is there some "customizing" that needed to be done? Thanks, man.

Just went on Hottexhaust's website- it's $729- not $529.
Free shipping though

I have it on my 94 M6 vert and it sounds real good! No interior resonance and looks good too. I also got mine at Hot Exhaust for $540. Just call them up and tell them your a member of Corvette Forum and they'll give you a smokin' deal!

it has an x pipe plus a resonator. well at least a free flowing one as claimed. no moddifying was needed but like the stock exhaust it was very tight through there. on hottexhaust when you add the exhaust to your cart theres a coupon code and you just type in veedub or vortex. it worked for me and gave me the reason for buying because I got a deal!
