major pain
Just need to vent frustrations a bit. While completing my coolant system flush by way of removing thermostat and using shop vav to blow thru the system, I started reinstalling the thermostat. One bolt would not go all the way in. You could hand start the bolts so it was not cross threaded. Tried a few times to get it to go all way in but no luck. Blew down in the hole and checked fro debri but nothing there. Used awl and checked depth of hold and bottom was about the distance of the nut. Nothing there. Looking down in hole about 1" down threads looked rough. Decided to use tool to clean up the threads as it must have had a thread break off. ?? Ran tool in and it stopped,backed it up ran in again and it stopped, ran bolt in and it stopped. This time going in with the thread clean up tool decided to put more pressure to the tool. The S.O.B broke off. Dammmmm! Now i got the problem of removing that piece of tool and probalby end up having to use helicoil. Very frustrating!!!!!!!! If anyone has good rec's here I'm listening.
