Default Single 4bbl throttle body conversion pics?

If I ever get spare time, I plan to finally build a streetable 420-434 combo, and will likely run a single throttle body on a converted manifold. I plan on a high rise hood, and a sheet metal custom pan to allow the cowl to be functional.

Anyone have pics to share?

Default single plane manifold

Jeb Burnett used to have pictures of his single plane conversion with a sheet metal pan made to fit under the stock hood. Might try shooting him a pm. It was really top notch!

Pete, I am in the process of having my 434 re-done. I ditched the miniram and plan on using a 4bbl throttle body sitting on a victor Jr manifold. The goal is to do this under a stock hood. There are some real low profile throttle bodies out there that my builder is experimenting with.

Jerkyboy, how did you get those rear rims and tires to fit under the body so well?

They are Sumitomos which run narrow. Plus I have a good bit of camber dialed in.

Pete, still looking for a pic?

Sitting on the shelf at the shop that welded in the injector bosses..

Here it is as installed. The tabs holding down the fuel rails were unfortunately woefully inadequate. (among other thing the shop did not do well). You can see how I installed the MAP sensor but the throttle cable routing is quite different now. I'll see if I can get some updated pics

The drop down base I used had to be modified to clear the throttle bracket and this Accel TB has no center hole for air cleaner lid stud. So I made the bar across the middle that has a stud. With this drop down base I came within an inch of fitting the high rise 18 degree intake under the hood. Problem is, you can't go any lower unless you change the angle of the injectors to "spread" the fuel rails out. The base sits on top of the rails as it is now.

EDIT:didn't realize how big this pic was...need to resize...oops

This is a critical part of the install and should not be taken lightly. The hold downs for my fuel rails were also inadequate and nearly caused me to loose my car.

Do not underestimate the force of 60 psi fuel to dislodge an injector and literally dump gallons of highly igniteable fluid directly onto red hot headers.
