Well, you're right even though you didn't know you are :p: . I'm willing to bet that the MAP sensor sends the pressure level by use of a variable resistor which varies due to a flap moving because of the pressure. Of course that's a guess, but I bet i'm right (or very close).
The resistance you're talking about probably isn't what causes the MAP level to go up .. buuuttt maybe. If I knew I wouldn't be asking :yesnod:
