well i finally got back to my dragstrip after a year and a half.
last time out i posted a 13.6 at 103 with a 2.1 60'
now my car is cutting out everywhere, can only have throttle, ran 2 14.2's at 100, with 2.3 60' times. my brake like was flashing down the track randomly? dont get that? changed my FPR today and it fixed my long start problem. gonna hook up gauge tomorrow make sure pressure is good all the way. guess maybe a tuneup is in order?
i pulled plugs they looked good, wires look a little old i guess i can check for arc? anything else i should look for? no codes
the flashing brake light could be low fluid in the master cylinder. if the level is low, and the fluid uncovers the sensor (like when you launch), this could trigger the light. it could also just be a bad sensor. im assuming you DID have the ebrake fully disengaged
what year is your car? is it MAF equipped? its possible you could have a MAF thats on its way out. my GFs 94' Formula had this problem at the track, and by unplugging the sensor, it regained its performance. i would do that test on the street to see if the problem goes away
it could also be fuel related. do a fuel pressure test by hooking a gauge to the fuel rail and tape it to the windsheild while talking the car for a test drive. go WOT, and if fuel pressure drops, you have your problem
i cant use my ebrake so it hasnt been used in... 2 years.
maybe just a bad sensor then, i have checked fluid. i will do the fuel pressure test today. i sure hope its not the maf.
the thing is it seemed to run great on the street on the way home... maybe its cause im not launching on the street, but it allowed full throttle without cutting out then. 2 runs on the strip and it did it both times.
i havent changed it since i bought the car. but i did lose pressure from one FPR to the other, i checked the fuel pressure right before i swapped in new one
