Default Getting me a PCMforless chip done

First time working with a PCM outside of a predator hand held one. Those are easy to play with. From my understanding the early style corvettes just have a medium chip which goes between the stock computer and then the electronics. It overrides the stock controls?

I am having the AIR and EGR codes taken out. About the shiftpoints. It says: Leave as is, quicken shifts, firm up shifts, firm as possible. Transmission is practically new. What should I do in that area? Car is mildy modded but this is still something I want to try out.

One last important issue. It lets you choose what grade of gas you want to use. What is the benefit of going from highest to lowest IF gas price is not a concern.

My guess is that they are going to set the timing, The better the gas the more advance you can run without detination.

Assuming you have a 87 as your profile suggests then the ECM has no control over the transmission other than controling the lockup torque converter.

Put mine in last week. EGR removed, asked for 91 octane gas setup.
Don't run the car hard so can't comment on power. What I have noticed is that the car runs cooler, fans come on earlier. Idle rock solid, runs smooth.
That is all I wanted, oh no egr error anymore.
