Default Delco Bose Question

My 1994 has the Delco Bose Gold unit with both cassette player and CD player. When I try to load a CD it will not load. I can push the CD in manually but have trouble ejecting the disk. When I get the CD loaded it does not play. I can get it to eject by turning the radio off and turning it back on while holding the eject button.

The radio plays fine. On the display in radio mode there are the letters
SCV in the lower right hand corner. I don't see any reference to these letters in the FSM.

Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

Thanks everyone.

are you using a prerecorded CD or one you burned at home?

If it was a prerecorded CD, more than likely you will need to remove and send it off for repair.

these radios have a real problem with the transport system for the CD part. I think I saw a place that will bring them up to speed for around $150.00

depends on how much you want to spend. And it's not a plug in replacement. Difference in the speaker impedance and On board amps makes it a little more work.

you can go with a single DIN unit with the mantra install kit. I bought a Kenwood KDCMP342U

you will need the rec box bypass wiring harness. On my 90 I had to do a resistor bypass to keep the SES light from coming on.

You should replace the speakers because of the impedance issue.

Most people have done what you are thinking about doing.

If you are going to do it let me Know I will walk you through it

On your 94 the receiver box might be underneath one of the compartments in the back check it out. if so you will need a longer bypass harness

Call Dr Don's - he is awesome! He'll install a new CD in your radio that will take homemade burned CDs. I've used him twice (different C4s) and highly recommend. Call him and describe what you're experiencing. He provides super fast shipping and the radio is refurbished to like-new condition! http://www.doctordons.com/
