Still fixing the tiny problems on my 95 I recently purchased. Door panel will not stay in place at top. It supposed to slide down on a catch at the top correct? What fastens it at the bottom?

The door panels of the C4 are prone to breaking and sagging. There are plastic ribs that hold the panel in place at the top. These ribs crack...do a search on door panels and you will see the "fix" for these. Just did the "fix" on my 95 and 96.

At the bottom are five panel colored push-in plastic fastners. There are also three screws that hold the panel where the door handle, light, lock is. Well...three screws on the driver's side, two on the passenger's side.

You need to use a special tool to pop-off those fastners at the bottom to avoid cracking the panel. It is just a wide blade with a slot in it to get on both side of the fastner. You can make one or buy one.

I have a tool for fasteners like that. I will search for the fix as suggested.

I tried the velcro in the valley fix that was on the "door topic" as suggested and it worked great. The door panel was wore at the top and had lots of play. After doing that the play is gone and the door is solid once again. I hope it lasts.

I fixed mine over the weekend, too. My ribs at the top were OK.

I had a connector (from a previous panel removal) that was not situated properly under the panel, causing it to exert pressure on the door.
