Is there a reason why the fans run while programming the PCM. Those fans drain a lot of power from the battery, and I'm wondering if it isn't ok to unplug the fans while programming. I get worried everytime I program it now that the fans are going to kill my battery again.

With LT1 Edit they only "flash" on for a second and then turn off. I have another problem, the electric waterpump! I just disconnect it before I start so it's no big deal.

yeah, I noticed when I used PCMread.exe, that it turned them on for just a second, then back off. Interesting that the software is what is doing that and not just the PCM. I guess I'll jet an e-mail over to Tuner Cat and ask why it does that and if there is any way to tell the software to not leave them on.

Ok, I wasn't sure if it was going to mess up the programming if I disconnected them. The way my PCM has been acting with me, if I were to do that it would screw it up and I'd have to have the chips reburned AGAIN.

While having my 94 BBB convertible programed in the spring of 2000, the very disaster that you have envisioned did happen. My fans ran contiually, and when the modified program was being uploaded, the battery power died, and so did the program. I had to send the computer away to get it blanked and then get the program reloaded.
