Default 84 Shorted, Not Getting Gas

I have an 84 which the cooling fan relay went bad in, so I had a fan wired to it to manually switch it on and off. Well since I wired it up, the wire came loose and wile I was taking it apart to fix the wiring, the wire propped and was an all time hot, so it touched metal and shorted something out. I then checked the fuse and it had blown, so i replaced it and got it all back together. Now it doesn't get gas. Ive checked the fuel pump fuse and its fine, still no gas. Also the wire (orange wire), which was going to the relay and now goes to a switch is no longer hot and was originally a all time hot. Any Thoughts? Thanks -Devin

Did you in anyway disturb any wires that go to the injectors?

The orange wire likely goes to a fusible link and it too is blown. Trace the orange wire to its source of 12v. See if the fuel pump runs by jumping 12v to it. If it does, then look for where its source of 12v is interrupted. The fuel pump relay gets its power from a fusible link, and most likely the same fusible link that your cooling fan got power from and that fusible link is likely blown.
When doing wiring work, disconnect the negative battery terminal so accidents like yours can't happen.

The fusible link looks like a short piece of black hose (about an inch) in line with the wire.

Can you tell if the relay is clicking for the fuel pump? I agree with running 12 volts to the switching parts of the relay to see if the pump works. The computer does give the signal to turn on the fuel pump.
Best of luck,
Woody
