About 7K miles ago I rebuilt the engine on my '89 and when I put the pipe that runs between the oil cooler hose and the front of the engine I must have bent it slightly since it's been rubbing on the frame. The aluminum is at least halfway rubbed thru. Any tips on how/where to get a new one?
Try Vette 2 Vette, or Corvette Recycling for a used part. They are listed on the left side ads almost at the bottom.
You could always delete the "oil cooler" system. Pull the short 90 degree hose where it comes out of the block and install a plug there. Then cap the hose at the upper end. There is not a lot of coolant in the hoses, maybe a quart or just under.
You may not even see a big jump in oil temps with the cooler gone. You can change to a full synthetic oil which will handle higher oil temps better than a dino oil.
there was a guy about a week ago selling the whole system, for $200. make him an offer for the tube.
I just sold one for $25. I have one for an 85, it will fit your car, but it's shaped different.
Come to think of it, it probably wouldn't rub where yours is chafing........$25 plus shipping.

Anyone else think this could work? I like the concept, but want to be careful.
