Hey guys I've tried disabling the ASR on my 95 with Tuner Pro and it reprograms all my other changes but the ASR still works in the car. Has anyone successfully disabled it using any software?
I tried a forum search and read a lot about other ways to disable it but this seems the easiest yet it doesn't seem to work.
not trying to jack your thread but does the asr still interfer with perfprmance even after you turn it off with the button?
No. If I turn it off with the button it's off.
I just hate hitting the button each time I get in the car. When I saw the option to disable ASR I was happy and disabled it and reprogrammed the PCM but it doesn't actually disable it as it still kicked in.
ASR is controlled by the CCM, not the PCM, on a Vette. So tuning software will not work to disable traction control on a Vette.
The traction control settings you are seeing would only work on an Fbody.
I've never seen a good solution provided, best one I have seen is just remove the fuse.
If you don't mind losing cruise, you can do what I did and install a 95 Z28 throttle cable that runs direct from throttle linkage to the accelerator and get rid of all the other crap.

95 Z28 throttle cable it is then! Thank you very much for the reply. Since mine's a manual transmission I don't have cruise so this is a perfect fix for me.
That's odd, my 94 M6 came standard with cruise control.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing like the automatic headlights? I've never seen a manual transmission car have cruise control Corvette or non Corvette.
Ok just to make sure I wasn't crazy I went to the garage and I indeed do have cruise control! This is my 2nd summer owning this car and I still find new things. Now I've got to go for a ride and test it out and figure a new way to defeat the ASR.
I may look at which fuse controls it and then if it lights up something on the dash, remove that bulb. I really hate it.
Thanks for making me look STL94LT1. I appreciate it!
I am working on a solution for the cruise, I will know more later.
I already have the 95' throttle cable, how was your fit on that item?
Worked perfect on mine. I would think there is probably a way to retrofit an Fbody-type cruise system on our cars though I never really investigated it. I know there are 3rd party cruise systems you can buy though (for hot rods, conversions, etc) that I'm sure would work probably. It just sucks the way they integrated it into the ASR system like that though I suppose cost-wise that was the best solution.
