I regret buying them. I used them twice. They slide forward when trying to roll up. Some have found ways around it. I also dont trust them. I prefer a jack and stands.

I've only heard of two sets failing. One cracked in pieces and the other bent in half. Then there's this.. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...ino-ramps.html Whatever you decide use stands as back up and wheel wedges.

I use them for oil changes. Never had them slide forward.
I put a short 2x6 in front of each, just to get the tires to start their upward travel before getting to the ramps.
This keeps the front spoiler from hitting the ramps and pushing them forward.

I used them on my former C4 and still use them on all my cars to do whatever work I need done. Some people on here used 2x4 wood to drive over and drive onto the ramps to prevent pushing with the front spoiler.

I use them on the rear tires every now and then. Not much good for anything else. To low. Stands are the best.

If you have an old set of floor mats, put them down and put the ramps on top of the mats. Works great.

Without some kind of method to hold them in place, mine always just scoot along the floor. I wouldn't buy them again because of that.

On top of that, when I do build some kind of contraption to hold them in place, the car is barely high enough to do anything to. I can do an oil change on them, but it's cramped and still sucks. It seems like the only thing they are good for is getting the car up high enough to get my floor jack underneath it.

Sometimes I back up onto them, which works much better, but for the most part I leave them in the corner.

I have an 85 with a ground effects kit...I need to get the whole car off the floor of my garage so I can;

A, Change all the universals.

B, repair the mounts for the GE Kit.

C, Lower/rebush the front and rear suspensions and change the front Stabilizer bar.

Where can I place the Jack Stands hold the car safely to accomplish these tasks?

I also use a small piece of wood to prevent them pushing out. They do have anti-skid pads but I think if your floor is too smooth, they won't work. So, no good for you ballers with marble floor garages.

Oh, so that's why mine work.
No marble garage floor, so it's out on the rough driveway for me.

Thanks guys! I'll be picking up a pair this weekend, I just want them for oil changes. I just can't justify $200 for a set of the other ramps.:o

This is why I never bought ramps in 30 + years. I started out with a quality floor jack and 4 jacks stands, this is the best and safest way to go. With a floor jack and stands you can do anything to the underside of your car. You can't change brakes or rotate tires with ramps.

I use mine front or back on rough driveway surface and they work great. I agree you cann't change tires or do brakes but that would be because the tires are what is holding the car up. lol. for most daily chores it works great, a hole lot better than the long high ramps I have to basically build to drive up on. I was able to do timing chain and oil pan with the ramps. No matter what you use it's a PITA to do much anything on or under the car (it has nothing to do with me getting older. lol. good luck and enjoy.
