I never used Rhino's, because I heard far too many negatives.
I use "RACE RAMPS". The set I have are 12" wide X 56" long and they've worked great for me. I've never had a problem with slipping and I just purchased another set from Discount Ramps. They also have a longer set which is 67" inches (I think).
I also have Race Ramps. Never had any problem with them sliding. They work well for C4's and C5's. Once the car is at the end of the ramp, you can remove the incline part, for better accesibility. My only complaint, is that they need to be taller..at least 3". They are too low to use a creeper, and when changing your oil...the oil pan is right in your face.
I agree a floor jack and jackstands give you better a better work area, but the time to set them up is considerably longer then using ramps.
I got a low profile GM Performance Parts floor jack and stands. They were on sale at Walmart. The one I got has a light shooting up from the cup thing.
I'm real tempted to buy this one every time I see it. It's a little pricey though.
Harbor Freight is hit or miss from what I understand. That GM jack I bought was only $50 and is 2.5 tons. They have another GM jack that is a little cheaper and it is 2 tons. Though they were heavily discounted and I had to pick one up when I was out of town as my local Walmart sold them all. They may not have anymore.
Rhino ramp the rear wheels and jack the front up. Use stands under the frame up front. Remove wheels and its a breeze to work on engine top and climb underneath. The jack I got is from Northern tool.
I use Rhino ramps on my truck. I used them on the rear of the vette the other day. My ramps are hit or miss on my driveway. My driveway sucks and is all torn up, it is asphalt. Sometimes the ramps slide to much, other times they stick like glue. When the slide I end up just pulling the jack out. That is a pain since I do not have a garage. I have to go in the back yard and go to the shed to get the jack and stands, a real PIA. But for some things the ramps work really well especially for doing oil changes on my truck, they are perfect.
