The 195° was to much for mine and racing. I try to keep the coolant low so it can help cool the oil. I have a 180° in now and like that. I start at a lower temp for a racing session and in the end attain a lower max temp.

BTW the one I have has a small notch cast in the top to let air through. I can take a picture if needed.

I'm guessing the only way to test this is with a DVM and a FSM.

i wish my dad would pay for half of my insurance this month so i could buy a FSM. He doesn't pay for crap lol.

Ok, so you put a 180° Robertshaw in? I was thinking of getting the Mr. Gasket one since you can get it locally. Maybe Napa can get the Robertshaw branded thermostat.

If you wanna take a pic, that would be nice.

No they all don't, that's why some get holes drilled in them.

Strange. The one I just got from ecklers has one in it and it's AC delco. Every thermostat I have ever seen has had a hole in the top.

I think Robertshaw is made in Mexico. The one I got today was made in the USA. Thank god!

I say it is good to buy USA made products. But just because something is made in the USA doesn't mean it is any good or better than something made from Mexico of Korea for example.
