4plus3 trans.no 2nd gear switch.Help!
1986 w/4plus3 trans. have problem w/overdrive not always coming on.I bought a book "101" projects for your corvette" it shows to place a jumper wire on the 2nd gear switch to trick the computer to think the trans. is in 2nd gear all the time. The result being basically w/use of the O.D. cancel switch an 8 speed trans. Problem is my unit has just one switch on shifter cover...reverse lights! There is no evidence of ay wires for switches on the harness??? Any input id be very greatfull. firstgear7@msn.com

My 86 4+3 just starting doing this. I checked the fluid level and ended up having to put a quart of fluid in it. It comes on more often now. I just did it today so I will monitor and see it fixes it all together. I need to change the filter also. I would start there. You have to jack the car up to check the fluid though.
