Default brake booster question

A while back my brakes started getting harder and harder to work.
When I pushed the pedal, it sounded like an air leaking/purgeing noise.

The master cylinder had always had a small leaking issue due to worn rubber grommets, so i figured it just hit its point, so i replaced it.

In the process, i broke the brake booster check valve. bought a replacement and put it in. bled the brakes all the way around.

The brakes still sucked. Then yesterday after messing around with the check valve which seemed a little loose, the car is just *******.

It putters from rest, idling funny, and has a real shaky time accelerating...

I'm thinking the brake booster is shot. If it was, would this throw off the vacuums and cause my car to do this?

Yes. The booster is "powered"by engine vacuum, if your booster leaks to the point it degrades engine vacuum it can and will cause the issues you have.
