removing weatherstrip glue
I just bought some new weatherstripping for my 86. I pulled out most of the stripping but there's still ripped chunks of it still in. It was glued in with a rubber type glue. I could spend 20 hours cleaning it out but was wondering if there was a faster way of removing the glue?

last week, I used carburetor cleaner. I bet you already have some of that in your garage!
Best product by far is 3M's automotive adhesive remover, but it can be hard to find. You may have to order it on the net. Second best thing that I have found is naptha (lighter fluid). You can find it in the paint dept at your local home improvement store. Not too expensive, doesn't harm auto paint and leaves no residue or odor. You'll find yourself using it frequently, and a can will still last a couple of years.
