My friend has a 90' coupe and the rear hatch glass blew out. He needs some guidence on how and how much to replace the glass. Do-it-yourself or let the Pros do it, cost of replacement glass and gasket, and any shops in Central PA that would be able to do the job? All imput will be greatly appreciated. My friend just got this Vette. I have a C5 and not to knowledgeable with C4's. Thanks in advance for your help!!
In New York Craigslist I saw a rear hatch for sale...Could have been In NJ or Long Island dont remember exactly.I dont know how far from Elysburg that is tho.
Just start calling around to salvage yards in the area go take it off and reinstall. What was he doing that it blew out I have never heard of that happening. I would remove the trim piece from the hallo inside the car and take the hinge and every thing just unbolt it.

I did not get the full details, I found out through my wife, she works with him. I found out from Gene Cully that you can not get a new GM hatch glass. I too have never heard of any hatch glass blowning out. I will be getting the details later. Thanks for your imput!
If you can find the glass locally, I think they are around $200. Shipping from out of town would be $$. It will come with the hinge that may need to be painted to match the car. Wilcox is a supporting vendor and they sell the gaskets for a reasonable price.
