Hey all,
I have recently installed many items seen in sig. I have once again gone through a set of wires, looked to be defective from the factory. They were Moroso's and MAN did I get shocked! Then I got it about 10 more times till I tracked the hole down. The first time about knocked me on my A&&.
The real problem is I think I have a vacuum leak on the SR somewhere. I tried the brake cleaner and also propane to detect the leak. Propane seemed to work the best, but still can't pinpoint the source or sources of the leaks. I am PRETTY sure there are some. Here is the question. I have speedup buy 2 injectors and on other location. Is there a way to absolutely pin point the area leaking. I would hate to have to take it all apart, which I will anyways, and miss one. Please give me some advice you guys. Its really appreciated!

I have a very small tip attached to a 24" long hose that I use on my propane bottle to find vacuum leaks... Is very effective. Try to find one @ a hardware store.
Since you've already done the hard work and pinned it down to 3 locations, I guess you would need to isolate the leak to a leaky O-ring on the injector, or the manifold, right?
Try using Vaseline or some other petroleum grease around the injector boss to see if your idle changes. If it doesn't, then it has to be the manifold pulling air.
BTW, a few months ago, I used throttle body cleaner (kinda like carb cleaner) to try and find an intake leak, and set the intake on fire:eek: Now I use a spray bottle with water in it... Halon is NOT that easy to clean up...Good luck.
With the propane, the car should speed up, right? How much of a difference will I hear? Before I was just using a small propane torch. There was only a very subtile change. I can hear a wistling noise, but for the life of us we could not locate it. Thought if we got close it would quite down, but so far we have had no luck. Is it possible that one of the injectors would not be seated right? I changed all the injector O-rings with new ones and everything seemed to go together OK. Kinda baffeled. Would it be possible to fill the area around the injectors with water and then perform the propane test to isolate the area around the injectors, instead of using grease. Obviously if the water decreases right away, the injector is leaking, and that is the problem. If it hold the water, and it still acts up, then its the SR. Just trying to get this straight in my head. Thanks and sorry for being thick! :D
