Backfire when starting

Backfire when starting
1996 LT1, 85K. Auto. Car starts very strong however the past month every once in a while on a cold start I get a backfire. Does not happen every start but more often after rain. No misses and runs strong. This is a very small backfire. Any thoughts, original opti, original injectors.

Could be anything, but at 85K miles, I would recommend a tune-up.
Opti's are good for approximately 100K miles, so I would consider replacing it, along with :
-water pump
-plugs/wires
-clean IAC
Since you said that the backfire happens during wet conditions, it might be moisture in the Opti which is causing arcing.
EDIT:
also check the coil wire for tight connection at coil and Opti.
