Default Dyno numbers

New Numbers
422 RWHP 393 RWTQ

My bolt on mods had me at 309 rwhp and 339 rwtq. The new setup on my stock 350 short block are AFR 195 heads, LPE 219 cam Baby cam my azz EM long tubes, A/C delete and under drive pulleys. I've got the cutoff set at 6300 rpm and the Vette was still making power so if I find out the AFR springs can handle more I'll bump that up when I tune with a 255lph pump. I've also got the 125 shot of funny gas yet to test. Check my profile or a full list of mods. If things go right I'll be headed for the track this Tuesday at Indy looking to get in to the 11's.

That is just awesome.......I'm putting down 360+rwhp so you surely have outdone me!......that is one stout C4...the dyno pull you have listed didn't seem to be a full 6,xxx+ RPM run, though or am I missing something?

the fuel pressure seem to be fine all through the RPM range......don't see where it was running lean.....

I can't wait to see it.....bring it to Vette's Restaurant Bar and Grill in St. Charles, Mo. next Sunday (6/14/09) for the 9th annual Route 66 Corvette Club "Corvette Show"....have a beverage while we're there and get some chow:

cheers:

The vid and red graph is an early run when he was just running up to 4 or 5 grand

Right now the 32lb injectors are running at 95% duty cycle to keep up

I hate to be a "Buzz Kill", but those numbers look too good to be true. Especially for running such a small camshaft. I would like to see some runs on a DynoJet.

I hope your trap speeds prove me wrong.

Not to sound like a hater (that's why I didn't reply earlier today), but DYNOmite's are way high, an SAE corrected dynojet will be much lower.

Whats the specs again on the LPE 219 cam? Looking forward to seeing how it handles the nitrous. I'll probably be spraying mine next Sunday for the first time since the cam install.

The LPE 219 cam is a good mid-range torque cam and an excellent match for the Superram..... with an LT-1, it'll work well, but there are better options available.

The LPE 219 is .560/.560 w/ 1.6's and 219/219 @ .050" 112lsa Its close to the GM Hotcam.

Your numbers do seem high for the set-up..... but, thats cool.... better to have a high dyno, than low dyno

While its true different dyno's obviously spit out slightly different numbers, they usually dont show a different curve.

If thats the case his numbers arent so unbelievable as this engine clearly has enough valvetrain control and airflow to run well into the 6000's based on what we see here (in spite of the small cam). The better the head the less you have to hold the valves open to fill the cylinder. This is a general statement, aimed at any cylinder head on any internal combustion engine.

The question to really ask IMO.....is the torque output very out of line because what this engine does very well is hang that torque curve way out there subsequently bringing in the big power numbers purely as a funtion of math (RPM multiplied by torque).

Honestly I dont have enough C4 chassis dyno experience to say whether or not his torque is extremely high or just above average, but you guys might have a better idea. I am much more familiar with C5 chassis dyno outputs....although, IMO, his torque certainly seems within reason for a good running 350 CID combo to me.

While Im just the opposite of a "hater"....LOL, I would also be interested in seeing this car on a Dynojet and until then based on his cylinder head choice, what I deem a reasonable torque figure, and his impressive shaped power curve, I will remain cautiously optimistic!

Cheers,
Tony

PS....The only Dynomite dyno in my area reads very similar to an inertia style DynoJet.....if anything it's actually a tad more conservative. Bottom line it could obviously go either way and the only way to have a better idea is backing this data up at another dyno shop or a trip to the track to see what this car traps (with some D/A numbers to go along with the timeslips).

We'll have to keep an eye on the weather. No track prep may hold you back some, too, but I'm anxious to see how it runs.
