Oil temp runs hotter after water pump replacement
My 1987 corvette just had a new water pump installed. My oil temp is now running 20 to 25 degrees hotter than it was with the old one. It used to be around 190 hot,now its 215 hot. My engine coolant temp is fine on the other hand….WHY ! The new pump is cast iron , the old one was aluminum,could this be the difference? At any rate can I cause any damage to my engine or its component parts running the oil that hot? Thanx!
