Hi There!
We have a '96 which began to flash "SYS" 3 times then stops for approximately 10 - 15 seconds and then repeats. This started this morning, so I came right back home and parked the car. According to the owners manual (pg. 2-93) is states that "If SYS flashes on the display near your fuel gauge, there may be a problem with your Corvette's electrical system." It also states "Have your vehicle checked by your dealer is SYS keeps appearing.
Well, I did go back out to the car a few times, to see if it reappears, however the SYS has not appeared again.
Anybody have any idea why this may have occurred or what the problem may be?
Any information / input would be greatly appreciated.
Battery is the likely cause. If not battery (speaking for the 90 I had) it is a CCM error and you will need to pull the error codes to figure it out. Check the battery first though.
Thanks for the input. However, I still have the original stereo system installed and the battery gauge is stating that it is fine (has a full charge) and the rest of the guages are all within the normal ranges as well.
I do appreciate the help - any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The battery will show fine on all guages. I'm not sure exactly how it measures it, but the computer knows that your battery is dying, and it's probably right. You can get away with it like it is now for probably a few weeks, but I would replace the battery before it gets ya when you have to go somewhere.
