Default Porting CFI Intakes

Can anyone tell me where I can find pics or tech info on porting a CFI intake? Looks like quite a few have done it, but I can't find any pics or specific things to look out for. I worked over my 88 IROC TPI plenum and it was rather straight forward. Is this project as cut and dry? Thanks for helping.

I had a thread marked at one time....

Look up threads from user EFI-CFI

One thread showed how a member used towels and masking tape to close up the underside of the ports and He ported the heads while they were still on the block. "Removed the intake and ground away the closed areas"

Then a shop vac to remove everything including the towels and tape.

I've been really really tempted to do this. Only thing that stops me is "so many" other things keep breaking LOL......I'm about 4 repairs behind on my ride as it is....

Seen it done too but imo not a great idea.
Theres very little gain strictly cutting on the entry way to the port and nothing else;risk too high of getting metal in the motor for a 5hp gain.

I don't doubt what you say...I heard it would get you more than 5 horses...I personally have no knowledge either way...just going off what I "Wanted" to hear.

(I'm honest in my dementia)

You are a Utah native, get on Utahvettes forum and call out cfi-efi. He will tell you all. By the way he has one fast crossfire. Google utahvettes

you'll get more than a 5hp gain. Porting the CFI intake is the best bang for your buck. But when porting to it completely not half way.

by the way your looking for the user CFI-EFI not the other way around.
Smokinvettes.com he frequents as well.

port on left been ported. Right side port is stock.
