Are you talking about the exhaust side or the manifold side?

I am not aware of any way to close off or repair the EGR exhaust tube it's self. They make EGR plates to close off the exhaust & manifold openings but you would need to get the old bolts out to use them. Can you get the exhaust side bolts removed?

The torxs bolt on the EGR riser pipe can be removed with a pair of visegrips...remove the distributor then the bolts on the intake side can be drilled until you can remove the heads of the bolts and the remaining bolt shafts should be easily spun out of the intake. Repair or replace the pipe once you have it off.

If you do decide to drill the intake bolts I would use a small drill in the torx opening to drill a hole all the way through the bolt. Then use a larger drill to remove the head, you will now have a polit hole left to make it easier to enlarge. If I remember right the bolts are about 3/4 to a inch long. Good Luck

I would try using an easy out on them after drilling SLOWLY about 3/8 inch in. Snap-on makes a stubby easy out so you don't have to drill as far. I think Harbor Freight has cloned them as well.
Try putting double nuts on a bolt that will sit in the torx head, and put a wrench on the lower nut, and see if you can get it out that way. If all else fails, you can grind off the head of the torx bolt that's stripped, and make a steel blank off and put it on the manifold with some sealer, and twist the pipe closed on the exhaust manifold, and then get a muffler shop to weld it shut, leaving you the opportunity to replace the egr pipe at a later date. I have a useable pipe for $45 shipped. it is the 86 crimp type for the manifold.
Arizona TPI sells the blank off plates for around $30 a set.
