Default 410's

These gears should have been installed in all 6spd cars at the factory.
I have roughly 405 410 hp at the crank on a LT4 what a great performance enhancement.
I was starting to get the itch for some more HP but my motor runs perfect and strong for what it is. I couldn't justify tearing it apart. If any one is in the same boat as me I recommend doing it.

aren't 4.10's a little steep for every day driving? i thought 3.73's would be a little better. or is this a 2nd car for you? just curious... thanks!

At 70 mph in sixth gear I'm only turning ~1800 rpms. Nothing wrong with 4.10's for a DD!!

4.10's are great for the 6 speed with overdrive in 5th and 6th.

how about for an automatic?

i was looking to make a straight line car, and i can't shift that well. i can shift well enough to get by, but not at a drag strip...

I personally wouldn't run 4.10's in a street driven A4 LT1. I would go 3.73 if it was a weekend car, or 3.54 if it was a DD.

i wanted to go with 3.90's or 4.10's but i am a little reluctant due to traction. i will be pushing for "high horsepower" number eventually with my current supercharger, and I think the short final drive will render the power useless.

I like them in a automatic. The thing is, you want to calculate what you will be crossing the finish line at, and keep your gear slightly under that.

edit to say, if you take a 4.10 gear, multiply by .70 for overdrive, it equals 2.87 ratio. That is a lot better then alot of cars came with before overdrive transmissions came out, for a final drive ratio.

Heh Rick Yes I did they seem to be perfect for my existing set up and should be perfect for a additional 75hp should there be something like that in the feature This should keep me satisfied for a bit I hope

When my car was a street/strip car, I ran 3.73s and was very happy with them. Now for a full time trailered bracket car, I run 4.30s (with a 28" tire). I am running a 4l60e

Who did the install for you? I was considering a gear change before I spun a bearing - now that's on the back burner.

Definatly....4:10's are the perfect all around Ratio.IMO..of Course.

Also, they help Clutch Longevity as Long as one doesn't allways abuse it.Gas mileage not noticably reduced as well.
