I think if you don't like the stock sound with your neato mods and want to hear your work then that is a perfect reason for modding the exhaust. I wouldn't expect any performance gains from a mod. But you should be able to get a nice sound without breaking the bank.

Try this:

Remove the stock LT1 mufflers and set them aside for "some day".

If you like the sound with no mufflers then get a muffler shop to make you some straight pipes.

If you do the mod without welds and only clamps then you could put the mufflers on if you needed to run quietly or pass inspections etc.

In my experience ($1800 spent on 3 diffferent exhaust systems), Corsa is the only exhaust system that is a nice compromise between good sound and eliminating the interior resonance.

You could try Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla, Billy Boat and others but, in the end, The Interior Resonance will tire you out and you'll end up with the Corsa exhaust system.

Corsa is on the expensive side but, in the end Corsa will save you a lot of time and money.

If you have sensitive ears then go with the Corsa. Expect to pay a lot of $$$. I like the sound and price of the muffler delete. Lately I've been considering the warlock mufflers to have the ability to change to straight thru or quiet. Almost no one has tried these though.

Go with a Corsa system and you won't regret it.

I have billy boats and they sound awesome. Extremely deep sound without being obnoxious. There is a littile resonance between 1200-2000 rpm but not bad.
