Default Tire sensors

Here is my question to the Techies.....

I am about to re-install the original Black A-mold Grand Sport wheels which came with this Grand Sport. I just purchased it back in May, so it hasn't been mine for long. Currently having it brought back to near show room shape and now is time to mount the original wheels with their new Goodyear F1 GS D3's shoes....Each wheel has a sensor banded around it...When I have the local Goodyear shop mount the tires back onto the wheels and I bring them home to put them on the Grand Sport....Am I going to get a message that I have a sensor problem due to the wheels not being on this GS now for several years?

I don't really care if these sensors are working or not, since I know how to check my tire pressures, so guess I need to know if I DO receive a message from the DIC......is there a way I can have the program disconnected?

Any help is going to be appreciated!!

Thanks!

You shouldn't have any problem. Just make sure whoever mounts your tires puts the sensors opposite the valve stem.

Not too familiar with the G/S..are your tires all the same size like my ZO7 or not?

In any event when you mount your wheels note which color sensor goes when so you'll be able to locate a faulty sensor in the future.

The FSM gives the original location for the colored sensors.

Easy method: pull out the bulb in the DIC

Hard method: custom program to delete LTPWS

======================================== ==========

The tires on the GS are of different sizes...11" wheels on rear/9.5's on front...Tires on rear are 315/zr17? The fronts are something like 245/zr17? The GS is in her stall about 50 yards away from the house, so not quite sure the sizes....
Thanks for your insight on this!! Much appreciated.

Any insight on how to remove the cover to pop the bulb out?

Thanks!

Look in the C4 audio FAQ in the audio section. Follow the steps to get the audio head unit out but instead of removing it, remove the DIC. Asscess to the bulb is from behind.

In order, shifter ball, console cover, shifter trim, dic trim.

The console cover and shifter trim will have wire connectors that need to be disconnected.

The dic assembly doesn't come out very far with all the wiring attached, so go easy.
