91 gauge cluster problem

91 gauge cluster problem
My speedometer and fuel gauge go blank sometimes if I hit a bump. The next time I start the car it seem to work fine. The other guages work fine. Could there be a loose connection or is the unit on the way out? I assume I have to replace the whole cluster which sounds expensive. What years can I sway with mine? Thanks for any help.

Other 90 to 96 years will fit fine, I have a '96 cluster for sale if you are interested, the only differences are (I think) the redline might be 500rpm higher and the speedo/fuel displays are reversed but it will fit.
