Default Steering Problem

Normally I have a vague idea of what the problem is but this one, not a clue.
On the way to work this morning, every time I let off the throttle the car would steer to the right. Not really hard but enopugh to notice and wonder about. Any thoughts??

'93, LT-1, auto trans, cut air lid, PCM chip, cat back Magna Flow system, and MSD ignition.

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like something got knocked out of alignment. Have a 4 wheel alignment done.

If it was an alignment issue wouldn't it put to the right all the time? This only does if I come off the throttle quickly.???

There may be something loose or worn that moves under a load. A good alignment tech will find this.

Check the right rear caliper. Maybe it gets a little stuck in the pin . It should slide with ease.
So when you are on the throttle the brake can break a little bit loose, when you let off if friction is high you will steer. A little bit like a Tank.
Also check for low or high tire pressure.
Good luck

Is the tire pressure even side to side front and rear?

Any chance you have hit a curb or pothole with a rear tire?

You may have knocked the rear end out of alignment.

Thanks for the inputs, tire pressure is same all around, and I will pull the right rear tire and take a good look at the brake caliper. After that I think I will get a professional to take a look.

Thanks for the ideas,

Pete

Check the wear on your rear tires. I had this problem and after a few days the tire ate itself up. It eventually happend to both rear tires at different times. I put new tires on and everything is perfect. I think it was because the tires where old and the rubber had stiffen.

tire pressure, sticky brake, alignment, (possibly) a wheel or weight problem

Could be a Bad Rear Wheel Bearing. Your tire is possibly moving in to out and or visa versa I had that happen on my 84' which had over
150K Miles on it.

You're not the first owner to make that observation and, in fact, my 96 does the same thing. It is very slight and you notice it more, or less, on different surfaces.

I think it might be bushings. I've changed the rear stabilizer bushings which seemed to help. Next up are the batwing bushings with a rearend swap. Then we'll take it from there. I don't want to just change them all at once because I want to determine the effect of each change.
