Default dual-mass == less synchro wear?

I was looking at "rally" cars on craigslist for a work buddy, and got curious about the SVT version of the Focus.

Anyway, in reading a bit about them on a focus website, this caught my eye:

This is the text that accompanied it. I beleive it's Ford press-release text and images they are using:
DUAL-MASS FLYWHEEL

The SVT Focus is the first front-wheel-drive Ford vehicle in North America equipped with a dual-mass flywheel. This technology divides the mass of the flywheel into two sections. The primary section is bolted to the crankshaft, and the clutch pressure plate is bolted to the secondary section. The two parts are connected by a spring-and-damping system. The springs isolate engine vibrations, and a torque-limiting mechanism allows the primary flywheel section to turn independent of the secondary section. The principal advantage of this system is a reduction of noise and vibration in the powertrain, and it helps prevent potential powertrain damage from torque spikes. It also improves shift feel, and reduces wear on the synchronizers because of the lower mass applied to the transmission.

To handle the engines increased torque, the clutch is upgraded with stiffer springs in the pressure plate.
The dual mass is easier on the trans synchros in the Focus 6-speed apparently. Any truth to that in the ZF?

Excellent video. Helped me to understand how they work. To think that Chevy started using that flywheel in 1990? Seems pretty high-tech to me.

Yes, but this DMF cant be found no-where. The supplier (LUK) do not make them anymore.

I know there are few thousands ZF out there

So, no thoughts on whether the DM somehow reduces synchro wear in the transmission?

A month ago OReilys got me a DMF -- it was 900 whick is alot but I wanted to keep the 89 I have factory. Hopefully I wont need to install it for a couple years. The car has 81000 on it now. The only thing that got me was the flywheel was Made in India.
