Default Fuel Pressure Gauges

Hey guys I am planning on buying a fuel pressure gauge to mount under the hood in the engine bay for easy future troubleshooting.

Can I just buy one of these, remove the shrader valve on the rail and install it and leave it be? How much fuel drips out from the rail when the valve is removed?

Lastly what's the difference between gauges with water and without like these (is one preferred over the other?):

Thanks!

Even if it is well sealed, it may leak and its under the hood (covered). Why not get a Hypertech fuel pressure gauge that you can use anytime for checks, then take off and put the cap back on (no leaks).

The diff. between gauges is the liquid filled (oil) remains somewhat steady when using whereas the non-liquid filled gauge tends to fludder.

The liquid helps to dampen the vibration under the hood of the engine rocking around.

I picked mine up from Exotic Muscle fittings and all.

You shouldn't get much fuel out of the rail if it's been sitting, if you were just running an dthere's pressur ebuilt up, that's a different story.

Use a rag and a screwdriver and press the shrader valve to release any pressure before you take the valve out, then install. You should not get any leaking under hood if you install properly.

Thanks guys. I'm not too worried about it leaking under the hood. Why else do they sell these gauges.

I use a Marshall liquid filled gague, but I do carry my valve & cap with a wrench to change it out if it leaks

You can buy electrical gauges with a sensor and wire them in cabin. These are all mechanical.

You can also use a mechanical gauge inside car but require a isolator to keep the fuel in engine bay.
