Default Removing VC emblem

I need to take the emblem off of my Magnesium valve covers so I can bead blast them. I looked at it and there doesn't seem to be a simple way to take it off. I don't mind if it breaks I'll replace it if needed.
Thanks,
Larry.

It's originally put on with some type of adhesive, just work around the emblem with a putty knife and you should be able to get it to loosen up. Since your refinishing you can get a few scratches on the covers.

I reattached mine with "The Right Stuff" that I used on the intake gasket.

It is possible to repaint the emblem, this is how mine came out.

I used a feeler gauge to work around the edges until the adhesive released from the cover. Got them both off perfectly with no bends.

Thanks all. These will be a great help. If I have to repaint it I've got a great example as well.

When I was cleaning my valve covers mine just fell off like stated earlier, a small putty knife should do the trick. If your blasting your covers anyways I wouldn't be concerned with leaving some of the old sticky tape behind.
