do we have to submit the Corvette Tax directly if we use your source?
Na , just go to the shop and quote the Spicer part #.
The Spicer box only has the part # on it ; not the application so nobody is any wiser.
No Vette tax
Thats pretty cool. There wasnt a page covering our Vette? I am hoping there isnt any changes to the diff in later years as I have an '85. Any chance to avoid the "Tax" the better!!!!
Now I have to find the Spicer Driveline Shop that wont gouge you no matter what vehicle, lol.
A quick glance at the "bill of materials" and the only "sure fits" would be the pinion nut, the pinion seal, the pinion shaft, carrier bearings, short axle bearings and seals. The differential itself, the short axles are different and are more similar to the '80 -'82 MY Covette.
You will be a good ways ahead to "trust" the correct "bill of materials"!!!!
That is the "CORRECT BOM" and it does '80 MY and newer. The housing and cover are "generic" to the "image" NOT the build. The builds 605220-X and greater are for the C4 Corvettes. The items that are different are noted as "variables" in the BOM. Do NOT assume there is interchageability, there ISN'T between the 44's of '80-'82 or the Super-44 of the C4's!
