Melonized distributor gear substitute?

Does anyone do a compatable Melonized gear ,or is GM the only option?

Have you considered emailing SummitRacing with what you want? If it's out there in the aftermarket I bet they carry it.

Not quite.... the melonized distributor gear for the roller cam

I think the only other similar option is the Comp Cams composite distributor gear.

you can look into the bronze distributor gears sold by most auto parts retailers....they have to order them sometimes....I went w/the GM melonized gear by recommendations however...

Seiously now.... I'm installing a retro hyd Comp Cams roller cam in my early block so I e-mailed Comp tech for their recommendation on distributor gear , Their suggestion was to use Chevy '90 - up gear. My research turned up part # 10456413 ...

Comp's gear is over the top, price-wise. I bought my melonized gear from a local Chevy dealer. Surprisingly, it was much cheaper than Comp's gear.

The only problem is they don't fit directly without machining a collar,
the shaft is like .475 and the smallest gear avail. from comp cams is
.491 its no problem is you can get a collar made to make up the difference.
