Default Radiator Fan OVERRIDE SWITCH ???

OK gang I have an 87'vert with the hd cooling system. Well now neither one of my cooling fans will come on no mater what, they won't come on even when the a/c is on. I did have the ECM reprogrammed so they would come on at 180deg but now Nothing. Since I have to figure out why they won't come on I thought that this might be the time to install an OVERRIDE SWITCH so I can have them on when I want to. Is there an EASY way to do this.

Before getting fancy, find out if the fan switch relays and motors work at all.

Its easy, put a toggle switch in parallel with the green/white wire on the main fan motor relay to ground. Of course, it won't do any good if the fan motor is dead, so unplug it and jump 12v to the motor wires to prove its ok. Check the motor wire ground connection, they get corroded and no longer go to ground when old. Check the 3 amp C fan fuse first with an ohmeter. If fuse is ok and the fan motor is ok, then ground the green/wh wire with the ign sw in run and see if the relay closes and the fan motor runs.

If the C. Fan fuse is blown, it supplies power to both fan relays and then neither fan will run.

STRICK WILL DO . Proud Father of Son in US ARMY. Also I have more news while in Iraq this time, he has bought a 92'ZR1 Black/Red. Our plan is to fly to New mexico and drive back this Friday should be a rather interesting 11oo mile trip home. Man he has ordered a new Escort Radar detector and he is ready to go get his new ride.

So now I will have to get him set up on the FORUM.

Thanks GANG. wro87

Ok Gang dug out the FSM and it shows Hd fan option but I cna't find the drawing for the other fan, but just where in the car are the relays and the fuse that is what I am now having problems finding. I have a extra switch now and will be installing an override might use two switchs so I can control both fan seperately. what you guys think of that.

Main fan relay is on inner fender, below master cylinder.
Aux fan relay is on front left corner of rad shroud, below the tiny hood strut.
Cooling fan fuse is in the main fuse panel. Both fans have a fusible link, they are orange and are below main fan relay.

As neither fan is working I would check power to fan relay first (through the fusible link as mentioned by Agent86 ).

The 2 fans have 2 seperate controls methods
Main fan controlled by computer; aux fan controlled by switch in drv side head.
Ground out the wire to this switch and see if aux fan runs
