Default What internals?

I will be looking to build a forged 383 in the future (hopefully winter)
What should I go with internally?

6.0 rods are a must
whats better I or H?

What brand forged crank?
Pistons?

and before you ask it will be getting a HEALTHY shot of go go juice

have a nice 4 bolt main sitting in the barn that will get the works.
everything on my current 383 will be moved over when the time comes

Budget $$$$ ?
You could spend $2K on a crank
Scat seems to get good reports for entry level quality forged parts

H beams clear better in strokers than I beams; no nut on the rod bolt
If you are committed to a 6" rod then need to check piston supply
Not all do a 1.125 comp height piston to suit

Scat or Eagle forged crank if you are on a budget, Callies Compstar if you want the best. H Beam rods (Eagle/Scat for budget or Oliver/Carillo for quality), JE/Diamond pistons. 4 bolt mains is always a good idea too.

I would go 5.7" rods for any type of forced induction because you get a better comp height on the piston. There is no real advantage to going for a 6" rod.

That bottom end should be able to take anything you can throw at it - nitrous, high boost turbo set etc, but not cheap.

my friend is building a 396 using carrilo H beams and a cola 3.80 crank and .30 over. He is planning on running a ATI procharger on it as well.

thanks might go 5.7" then
no boost just a bunch of boost

budget is reasonable. 2k on a crank is a no. Eagle or Scat or Lutani were my first choices.

diamond or JE pistons. Which is more sought after? Better for the squeeze?
