What a pain (opti)!!!
Just replaced opti, wires, plugs and waterpump. After a couple of days and alot less skin on the knuckles I'm finally finished. It started when the car started stuttering and missing, so I pulled the codes and got a code 16. Then I got on the forum and asked some questions and pulled some old threads to figure out it was the opti. Thanks everyone for the help and thanks to 18carfan for the opti! Car runs better now than when I bought it, opti must have been on the way out for awhile.

I did mine last year... it was'nt that bad...
next time, I will be replacing the front main seal and timing gear. makes sence, really. this should happen in about 30k miles or so.
I agree, Curtis... why did'nt GM use a lost spark distributorless system on these engines??? why??? Why I ask???
