Can I swap a 4L60E into my 85 with a 700r4?
I know I will need a TCI or the likes controller but just want to make sure it will fit. And will I need a new drive shaft?
my 700r4 is fine I just dont feel like messing with the govnor weights and will be upgrading to some better power and dont want it blowing up on me
If it has the same bellhousing ( not LSX style) should be bolt in swap.Will need to reuse C4 tailshaft ext housing on new trans unless 4L60E came out of a C4.

You are getting confused with the convertor splines.
Early T700 had 27 splines; changed to 30 spline with all the upgrades in '88?
Output shaft on all is std GM 27 splines; same as used in late P/glide . TH350 ,4+3 ,etc.
