I have an old battery and it was stone cold today, I tried to charge it, it doesnt hold a charge so I tried to start the car with the charger connected. now i have to spark could this be from the old battery?? could i have cooked the ECM?? any suggestions.
Can't understand what you are trying to say. If you have a bad battery, then replace it, THEN try starting it. Well designed battery chargers that have a start position shouldn't harm the ECM. Also, the ECM is fused and has internal circuits to protect itself from overvoltage although there is a limit to their protect circuits.
I had spark before I tried to jump the fuel pump relay, and there was a spark. Now I have no spark. Would an old battery cause me to have no spark because its to weak.

Yes. If the battery is dead then you will have a hard time getting spark. Since it is dead go ahead and replace. You will need a battery even if it is something else and we can do more testing once that is done.
