86 window regulator upgrade

86 window regulator upgrade
I finally finished putting my upgraded (used) window regulators in. I noticed that if i can move each window front to back about a 1/2 inch when the window is rolled down half way. Is this a characteristic of these windows or do i just have worn out window regulators?

That's normal for the newer style window regulator. 
If the window is not in the fully open or closed position, you can grab the top back/rear of the glass and rock it up and down about 1/2 inch or more.
The door glass sounds like it's going to shatter when you shut the door unless the window is all the way up or down.
Starting around 93 GM added a vertical guide bar for the window glass. Even that had problems. The plastic guide piece would break. Here's a link describing how it works.
